As an index 4.0 Jeep Distributor
After I read and heard many horror stories about Jeep 4.0 's that do not work after pulling off the dealer, I was very careful to install a distributor in my new Titan Stroker Motor.
The procedure at the factory recommended procedure is surprisingly simple. Here is my method of running the recommended procedure.
Use a key 3 / 4 of an inch for the engine to zero degrees mark to turn the damper. It is easier if the fan is in his way. Is also necessaryensure that you are on lots of compression of the engine. One way to achieve this goal is to see the movement of valves and make sure to include the mark immediately after the intake valve.
Another tip: If you shock is old, is a good time to ensure that it is not, check that the engine is actually at TDC, when the fold lines twist of fire.
With the cap on the distributor, write a line on the left side only the number one terminal. The transfer of this line downboxes of metal distribution. Release Renix, is close to where the wires out.
Use a screwdriver slot in the oil pump drives up to 11 clock.
Now, remove the distributor cap. Tang Eyeball fitting on the mounting screw hole of the block. Take the seal you just removed and put back.
Set the rotor to point to more than 4 clock. This will be a bit 'to the right of your brand.
Low dealers around the hole and letresult in the camshaft sprocket. The rotor turns as a commitment to the corridors. If it touches the ground, the rotor must be marked before. If not, try again.
Enter Clamp assembly and tighten the screw.
From the stories I've heard that the computer will not work if the seller is indexing turned off a tooth. With this approach, it will be fair. Check before another item from the list of Jeep Cherokee engine problems.
